An Editorial Reflection on the Journey So Far

When we published the very first issue of Voces que Inspiran, we didn’t know how many stories would follow, or how far they would reach. We only knew one thing: that young people around the world were doing important work — and that someone needed to listen.
Fifty issues later, we know we were right.
A space to share what rarely gets told
Throughout this journey, we’ve shared stories that rarely make headlines — but absolutely move systems. Stories built not on image, but on impact. Not on titles, but on consistency.
In a world that often values visibility more than substance, we chose to do the opposite: to focus on what actually matters. That’s why we’ve elevated voices like Prisha Shah, who told us from the UAE:
" I’ve learned that you don’t need to be perfect to make a difference. You just need to start.”(Issue 49)
Or Alya, from Indonesia:
“ We don’t have to be adults to make an impact. We just have to care deeply enough.”(Issue 45)
These aren’t just quotes. They’re reminders of the kind of leadership that doesn’t seek attention, is make a difference.
What we’ve learned along the way
If this project has taught us anything, it’s that change has no single form. Sometimes it looks like a youth-led climate campaign in a rural village. Other times it’s a support network for unpriviledged students, or take care of homeless pets.
We’ve also seen that many changemakers face the same challenges: lack of funding, lack of credibility, and age-based discrimination. And yet — they keep going.
Fifty issues later
We’ve published voices from over 30 countries. Some were submitted by email. Others reached us by chance. Many were born out of crisis. All had one thing in common: they told a real story, with real impact and clear purpose.
These fifty issues have also shaped us as a team. They’ve reminded us why independent, youth-centered platforms matter. They’ve taught us to listen better, write more responsibly, and highlight action without romanticizing struggle.
What comes next
This 50th issue isn’t a conclusion. It’s not a destination. It’s a moment to pause, to look back at what we’ve built — and to recommit to what still lies ahead:
To keep telling the stories that matter. To keep betting on young people. To keep inspiring through action, not just words.
And as one of our featured changemakers, Nhi Truong, once said from the United States:
“ I’ve learned that even small acts can change lives”(Issue 41)
We’ll carry that with us.
Thank you for reading. Thank you for believing. Thank you for walking this path with us.
